They have no idea how they are gonna pay for their own city if the mall chooses to annex into BR. With so much uncertainty, I don't know how anyone living there could support that right now.

Aren't there other cities without the Mall?
How is Central doing? I have no idea.
Also, this does not have to mean hatred and never dealing with one another. Hell, Most people don't really pay attention what is BR city limits, unincorporated, or Prairieville, etc. I don't pay much attention to the "city" I am in in my area. I go to the store, restaurant, etc that I want to go to and just live my life.

It's all snout the schools and now it's about changing the status quo.
If they do nothing the public school system in the parish doesn't fill their needs nor is it responsive to their wishes. If they form their own city, they hope to change all that.
The loss of the Mall would certainly hurt their finances, but it wouldn't kill their hopes for an ISD and a better school system.
It's also apparent that the people running city hall care little about solving their education problems and their goals hardly include helping the SG area of the parish.
