Do you not understand that he's going to play right field and hit second in the order?

I never said he would bat 2nd in the order, that's TBD

Cutch plays CF, not taking his position
Marte plays LF, not taking his position.

He's played RF all season in triple A, go look it up. He'll play RF for the Pirates and occasionally some LF

Wow. You amaze me.

Another 3-for-4 performance from Polanco Thursday.

Notched a combo-meal, picking up his fourth home run and steal of the year.

McCutchen, Marte, Snider, and Tabata out there.

Pardon me because I stopped reading when I got to this. Is this real? Polanco is one of the best prospects in baseball ad is a legit 5-tool player. Snider nor Tabata are even sort of holding him back. The Super 2 deadline means he won't get up til late June, but he'll come in and immediately bat prob .280, double digit homers and steals, and good amount of runs. He's way more valuable in a playoff hunt than the other two

They are already 7.5 back and losers of 8 of the last 10 games.

Could be soon

I wish they'd call him up but I just don't see it until late June

Your Gregory Polanco update:

quote:

@BenBadler: Gregory Polanco has a triple and a stolen base already tonight. Yes, he's MLB ready right now

@jonmorosi: Regarding Gregory Polanco: Pirates right fielders have combined for a .568 OPS this year.

I've been stashing Polanco for 2 weeks now. It's been hurting me because I have so many damn injuries, especially with Kipnis and Billy Hamilton both going down this week to add to my injury woes. But the kid is a stud. I firmly believe the decision is gonna pay off when he get's called up.

late June

The Pirates have a precedent of calling up their minor league studs about 7-10 days after the super 2 date to give some cushion (see Andrew McCutchen & Gerrit Cole). I believe May 31 is the minimum if calculated out, so my guess is they call up Polanco between June 7-14 barring any injuries to him or any current Pirates OF.

The Pirates recently offered the 22-year-old Polanco a seven-year deal with three club options that would guarantee him a little bit less than $25 million, a source with knowledge of the team's plans told Yahoo Sports. Polanco rejected the deal and remains at Triple-A Indianapolis, a casualty of Major League Baseball's service-time rules that continue to give teams an incentive to bury some of the best prospects in the minor leagues until June.

Yeah, I saw that too. It's getting to be a pain hanging on to him with limited bench space thanks to J. Hamilton, B. Hamilton (hopefully back tomorrow), Kipnis, Mesoraco, Latos and him. Plus I just put in a waiver to drop my only other catcher to get Ryan Zimmerman. Already had to drop Pineda and T. Walker. These injuries are killing me and I'll be playing without a catcher until Mesoraco gets back if I end up getting R. Zimmerman off wire.
