It took him about a year to shut up for long enough for me to ignore him.

It's not like the actual content of most British commentary is amazing. It's familiar, but a lot of it is mind-numbing, predictable, cliche-filled bullshite.

I don't think that Gus has been that bad the couple of times I've heard him this year. He's still not great, and I still think that what FOX is doing is bullshite, but it seems as though he has worked hard enough to give a passable performance.

I understand why they stuck with crossing the ball for the first ~60 minutes. Real Madrid's midfield did a good job supporting the two fullbacks, mostly Coentrao, and insulating Pepe and Sergio. No fricking idea why Bayern was still pinging in crosses when the game started to get stretched.

ETA: Though Varane is much better than the other two at dealing with players running at him, at least pre -injury

Yeah, he did bust his arse all night, as well.

Plus, Coentrao has looked good these last two matches. Di María has looked off in the last two, however (he´s just not very bright, when the tempo picks up he mentally short circuits).

I'd like to see someone buy di Maria and stick him back out on the left. I think that he'd cut a lot of it out if he couldn't cut in on his only foot worth anything.

They don't even really need to get that attacking, just cut the crosses in half and run at Real's unstable center backs.

that weird right side pairing of robben and llahm is weird

they're playing to robben's left (obviously), and he hands it off to llahm, but they don't really guard him directly...and he never shoots. just sends in a right-footed cross in the box

I know it's Mexican teams but the 2nd leg of the CONCACAF final is pretty good. 1-1 right now and was 0-0 on the agg going in. If it stands now though Cruz Azul will win since Tuloca is the home team.
