That may be, but the general populace of those areas cant exactly go to the local Winn-Dixie to get meat for that night now can they? They cant go buy bottled water anytime they want from 100 different vendors within a square mile of their home can they? They live a different lifestyle...an entirely much more independent lifestyle than the typical American. If the grid would go down, ALOT of people would starve to death within a month.
