Look at his numbers against top 35 defenses

Compare Manziel and Murray against top 35 defenses. Manziel crushes Murray in almost every category from overall winning percentage to total yards to completion percentage (this one is particularly damning to Murray). When you throw in the fact that Manziel adds an astonishing 80+ yards a game rushing, there is no comparison.

This chart tells me that Murray is a good but not elite QB that feasted against average teams and struggled against top 35 defenses and was outright awful against top 10 defenses.

ETA the actual numbers:

Murray against competition OUTSIDE the top 35 defenses:

93% winning percentage
67.2% completion
5.79:1 TD/INT ratio

Murray against competition INSIDE the top 35 defenses:

35% winning percentage
56.6% completion
1.48:1 TD/INT ratio

Contrast that with Manziel's numbers-

Manziel against competition OUTSIDE the top 35 defenses:

94% winning percentage
68.2% completion
4.40:1 TD/INT ratio

Manziel against competition INSIDE the top 35 defenses:

Record of 4-5
70.2% completion
2.25:1 TD/INT ratio, considering rushing stats, in addition to 82 more yards a game in that category as well

So yes, you do see a drop as defenses get tougher but it's not nearly as pronounced as Murray's drop.
