Hmm, glad you said this. The old man had said that and I sort of just wrote it off thinking it can't be too bad. What makes it more difficult?

Backing it up


Eta: If you can back up a small regular trailer pretty quickly using only your side mirrors, you'll be able to pick it up somewhat quickly. I still wouldn't advise it

There is a pretty big learning curve on a 5th wheel... you have to be really careful backing up and turning sharp, especially with a short wheelbase, or you WILL crush your cab. Back it off in a ditch... and crush your bed. You also need to make damn sure the hitch is engaged correctly... or it WILL come loose.

As for the hitch... mine was around $2000 installed. It does come out but that f'r is heavy.

Oh one other thing... all RV's from the cheapest bumper pull to the largest custom bus are all huge pieces of shite liable to break down at any time.
