I've been under the same impression and I suppose it could have been an issue of storage. Anyhow, I find the US is more tart and has clean aftertaste. Perhaps my imagination is getting the better of me..

Well, it's probably just variation between batches. It's a blended product where they try meet a certain balance of flavors each time from living lambics with varying character, so there's only so consistent they can make it. Not to mention the effect of the age of the bottle after re-fermentation.
