Amen...baffles me that people continue to spend $/time on that cluster%^&( of a program. It's not even May and the cubs and Astros are already dead last and out of contention...lol
How can two "professional" organizations be soooo poorly managed ?

How do you figure the Cubs are poorly managed at this time?

They're letting the farm guys grow into the future stars they will be rather than going out and buying a bunch of washed up guys

While practically true, it's certaily not a reality just yet.

also, the dbags are in 'dead last'

Both have very good farm systems and are trying to rebuild. I consider that the right move and wisely managed. Lose more games get better draft pick, build up farm system have more players pan out at the big leauge lever. That's a better strategy than spending middling money, getting middle level picks, not having a protected draft pick for FA money, and being middle of the road and not getting into the playoffs or be a real contender for a crown.

I know you're picking low haning fruit but can we deconstruct this statement?

The cubs have had periods in that time where they've been quite competitive...even statistically been the best team. SO is a world series championship the only way to guage not sucking?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not aruging that the cubs have been successful, but certianly just pointing to the last world series and saying they suck glosses over a lot.

White Sox
medium to long periods of mediocre baseball...but seldom, if ever, as poor as the cubs and Astros. Occasional very good teams and championship runs !

Would love to see some type of European relegation system, where teams which are habitually poorly run and simply feed off the teat of a TV contract {all the while abusing/cheating their own fans}...would be sent down to a lower division..lol
