I don't see the benefit of burning a #2 pick on a #3 pass rusher.

Maybe I'm just a glass half full guy. But I see a defensive line of Quinn, Brockers, Long and Clowney to contain and chase down Kaepernick and Wilson on passing situations. While Laurinaitis and Ogletree roam behind them.

I'm not doubting his ability (so I understand your reasoning for taking him #2), but if I'm building a team, I want to fill the gaps with my early picks, not supplement an already sufficient position.

You have two probowl caliber DE's already. That would be like the 49ers drafting a linebacker when they are loaded at that position. They should no doubt trade it or get a true no.1 big man WR if they believe Watkins can be that guy.

Draft Clowney if he's there.

If Clowney falls #2
trade #2 pick to ATL for #6 pick, #37 pick, and 2015 2nd round pick

I don't think Bradford is going to work out. Time for a new QB.

I'm willing to give Bradford one more year before cutting the cord.

Adding Watkins to that passing game would be clutch.

I would take a quarterback in the 2nd or 3rd round if I were them for sure.

if they stay at #2 who do you believe they select? An offensive lineman to shore that up would be my guess

I think that would be the right way to go. I mean you have a lot of tough defenses in that division that can get pressure on the QB. So take a stud tackle to protect Bradford.

if Clowney falls to them, they could entertain another trade option I guess. But if you were to add him, that D-line would be even more sick.

say they get Clowney... they could always get someone like Lewan at #13 or get lucky and have Jake Matthews slide to them.

I've seen where a lot of mocks have HaHa going to them. And I've seen a few where they take a corner. But if you take Clowney, I don't see a huge need to go defense with the next pick. Again, you'd be getting a ton of pressure from your front four so there wouldn't be some dire need in the secondary to me.

Again how would it make them "more" sick? It would mean Clowney is in a rotation with either Long or Quinn two players who are already pro bowl caliber, now maybe if they don't plan on extending Quinn I could see them taking Clowney

Why would you extend Long over Quinn in that situation?

And you can never have too many pass rushers. Long could easily shift inside on passing downs and create havok from 3 linemen

The giants won a superbowl or two from this
