Wait you lost the mare? Thought all was well. So sorry to hear.

What about the young horse you sent to boot camp?

I'm still sad because I loved her, but at least I've got the colt. If he's not fast he'll come home and jump things. He's got a great attitude.

Boot camp horse was a disaster after boot camp. Came back much worse and skinny with stifle issues (he's pretty straight behind). I've got all that sorted now through lots of long trots slowly starting him back. His attitude is better now too. It's about 70/30 as far as bad attitude days and I'm good with that. He's a bitchy mare trapped in a gelding's body

He sounded like a hand full before boot camp :)
Well at least you can concentrate on the foal.
My baby is a handful too. Guess it's just the age.

Thanks

It was a year ago, so not so fresh. She was a fabulous looking mare.

I do not own any of the rest, husband just trains. My last one (well, I had half of him) got claimed last month. Husband and I are still arguing over putting the baby in the yearling sale in September.

I need to start a ky derby thread on msb. We are getting close to may 3rd

He's still a handful, and I can't even blame age because he's 8!

He's teaching me patience, though. And he jumps in perfect form and moves great. I just have to put up with his diva behavior.

How d is yours? What color? You do cow stuff, right?

Yeah a little cow work. The baby is a yearling. Sorrel filly. She's cute but a typical neurotic cutter. Best thing I've done is turn her out with my geldings. They're very paternal but taught her some manners. She was obnoxious when out with other yearlings. Quite pleasant now that she's around the adults. She is a really nice mover though. I'm sure she'll put me on my arse a few times
