The merits of the full length guide rod (FLGR) seem to be a source of debate in the 1911 community. Some believe it is a benefit for the recoil spring while others think it is unnecessary and prefer the original style.

I just bought my first 1911, a PARA. Looking forward to spending way more on upgrades than i paid for the gun:D
