I lived there for about a year, go to the south side (bryan beach) and get on the beach and head south to the mouth of the brazos river. I slaughtered reds, specs and flounder there on the regular. Try to throw you bait where the fresh and salt meet. Best bait there was any purple swimbait with a chartreuse tail. outgoing tide, fish in the surf, incoming fish closer to the mouth or in a little. Let us know now you did since that is the ONLY thing I miss about that place. Only time I did well at the jetties was at night with lights/generator when the water was clear. If the wind is coming out of the southeast all I can tell you is good luck cause you'll need it.
CSB: had a downpour one morning, I headed out there after work and tbe river was dumping a ton of fresh water. Flounder were literally jumping out onto the bank. Picked up an ice chest full without taking my pole out of the truck.

New to the area . . . How would one get there from Houston? What road to take to get access to beach?
