Been looking into buying something in the FQ just for this and just pay my mother to clean it in between.

that just sounds icky to me...some people are just nasty and I would hate the thought of weirdos rummaging through my things. To each his own, I suppose...

And I would absolutely hate if my neighbors had a revolving door of "guests" in their home.

Airbnb sounds cool until the guests decide to cook up a big batch of meth or leave HIV spread throughout the place.

*** Update to the original post***

Current renters (and last for at least a while) have left. AirBnB was a great service but I found out the true issue is that the guy that lives below me is a racist. I don't use that term lightly and am ashamed to witness it in 2014.

He basically did not like the fact that my guests (2 on a Friday and Saturday night) were of Latino decent. The guests had the TV on a little loud, so he went up there and upon seeing the renters were Latino, he freaked out. I think he might have been drunk. He proceeded to tell them "go back to your country" and other inappropriate things.

They actually attend college at Georgia Tech and were extremely nice. I feel bad for them.

So that's the summary according to the neighbors across the hall from me (60+ year old woman) that said the guests were very nice. I have texts from the guy below me saying "have those foreigners left" and "they have no respect for southern white guys."

I looked into all the guests before I hosted them. They all had verified IDs and good reviews. All were wonderful. And no they didn't go through a background check but neither did I to rent the place. The wildcard I didn't expect was the 33 yr old guy below me doing what he did. Now I'm on thin terms with my lease but I don't blame the management for that. They are just going off of the guy below me's account of what happened and subletting is technically not allowed.
