Some sort of sinus infection caused me to lose smell and taste for 3 weeks. It was miserable

This happened to me a few years back. Bad sinus infection led to me losing all sense of smell, and therefore taste, for a little over a month. Yes, it sucked arse. When it finally broke I distinctly remember how awesome it felt to be able to taste food again.

I bit into some Tylenol gel caps when I was a kid and couldn't taste for a day or two.

Once had migraine with aura. Everything went tunnel vision, with crazy colors. People sounded distant. Felt like light headed with a cold sweat. Had to sit down and wait for it to pass. Not a fun experience. Fortunately it's only happened twice in 30 years.

Not sure if this is considered temp or not, but my dad, after walking off from his second small plane crash with a fractured skull, lost his sense of smell. this was about 20 yrs ago. It's slowly come back, but it will never fully recover according to the doc.

Yes. I once bought cheap pine nuts from Rouses. Bad pine nuts release an oil that strips your taste buds. It lasted about a week and I thought I had cancer until someone asked if I had eaten pine nuts lately. Went away but being a chef and not tasting anything sucked.

Yes. I fell and hit the back of my head really hard and couldn't see for about a day and a half.
