How racially diverse are they? Their demographics? How long have they been unable to have guns? How long did it take to remove them from the country's citizens? What type of Govt do they and have they had in the past?

Why do they have such a high suicide rate?

"Hey guys, look at this completely differnt culture on the opposite side of the planet. Look at their homogenous population and vastly different laws, history, and publics view of the world. Now, why cant this one law they have work in the EXACT same way here in America?!?!"

It isn't just about Japan. It holds true across pretty much all wealthy nations it appears. Liberal gun laws, correlates with more people killing each other's with guns.

By the way, it seems many on this board attack anything that doesn't support their position while blindly supporting anything that might.

This board might make a good case study in intentional ignorance imo.

Switzerland and the Czech Republic have gun laws that resembles our laws much more than Japan's and those two countries are fine.

There's an inner city cultural problem with gun violence. No need to cut off the leg to save the foot.

Right. And your posting history shows just the opposite, I'm sure.

What about Switzerland?

So if your inference is that their society has the same social issues and desire to murder, but that don't have the access to guns, then their homicides via knife should be on par with the US. Unless they have outlawed knives too

What about other crimes, they should all be on par with the US, but they aren't... And why do you think that is???

Swiss have strict laws about carrying a firearm. Totally illegal to carry one that is concealed in ANY way. They have a system that basically says leave your guns at home. Very different than ours.

If I'm not mistaken, on a per capita basis, Northern Ireland has a higher gun murder rate than the U.S., and the U.K. has gun laws almost as draconian as Japan's.

the Swiss don't have a violent subculture that's responsible for the overwhelming majority of gun crimes.

My posting history absolutely shows I am open to information. I have never taken a stance on gun control because I do not have an informed enough opinion. Same on obamacare.

This board is mostly the opposite of me. It is shoot from the hip and exercise willful ignorance if you may be wrong when you shot from the hip.

Your posting history shows a stubborn stance on issues and an unwillingness to relent despite contrary information.

No way.

The NRA says that we need guns to keep gun crime down!

Funny how you have NEVER responded to the literally scores of gun debate threads in the past 5 years on this board where we have scorched EVERY anti 2A opinion, argument, and bias with cold hard facts.

Never will you respond to this fact. Extrapolate the 4 most dangerous cities in the US with the highest murder rate (IIRC Chitown, Miami, Detroit LA) the United States is the safest place in the world to live with by far the heavliest armed citizenry in the world.

BTW, your equation of low murder rates from no gun ownership is like saying the country with the lowest DUI deaths is the one with the fewest car ownership by capita.

Anyway...its the Constitution, deal with it. It ain't going anywhere.
