Pretty messed up they did that to that guy.

He didn't even do anything.

no loose ends.

I thought this was a solid bridge episode.

Sad we didn't get to see Kate Walsh again. But then I remembered that she only signed up for one episode of this series.

I love how she completely ignores the fact that she's harassing him.

Lorne listening to the recorded phone call intrigues me.

Great setup episode for the next big moment in this show. Introduced some crucial characters and some good one liners. Lady cop is starting to piss me off Lester needs to hammer her face in too.

It's weird how Lester has the good guy feel even tho he's like not.

I guess we can just say that Malvo corrupted him.

Yep.

I'm gonna have to watch it again to really try to understand all of the new characters better.

This is my understanding.
Thornton appears to be this corrupting force.
He causes people to begin looking at the darker side, and opens them up to immoral decisions.

This actually appears to be a theme carried over from the movie.
SPOILERS
The lady cop didn't even consider that lundergaard might have been lying to her at first.
She doesn't realize lying is something that happens until she catches Mike Yamigina in a lie.

It's like evil isn't part of these people's vocabulary.

That was why the Coen Bros originally set the Fargo story up there. It is a place that couldn't seem more harmless and innocent. Molly seems to be a lot smarter than Marge was at this point in the series. She is right on top of Lester who couldn't give off more red flags if he tried. Marge was totally blind to Jerry until her epiphany in the movie.

Absolutely loving this show so far.

The Americans seems interesting. The scene in the woods where they're asking the truck driver questions is intense. Great acting too.

i was a little distracted, so i could be wrong, but i thought the tanning lotion smeared on the corner of the ransom note tipped malvo off on who might be the blackmailer?
