Fargo: TV series "official"

I like how they didn't show Lester hitting Chaz so his first real act of violence is the brutal murder of his wife. Gives it more shock value.

And it's kinda ironic that Lester's first hit on his wife was similar to Karl (Billy Bob Thornon)'s hit on Doyle Hargraves in 'Sling Blade' :)

I was kinda confused about what accent Martin Freeman was using at first. I thought it was Irish when he first spoke.

I can't get too excited about this. freeman is just literally doing a impersonation of William H Macy as Jerry LUndergaard.

I kinda saw that too, but he is more of a wimp or nervous nellie than Lundergaard.

I think the Coens did this on purpose. The show is not like the movie, but in a parallel analogous way, it sorta is.....

Yeah I agree. I was just seeing if I could get a rise out of a TD fanboy.

It's way too early to tell about the series, but no matter what I promise many on here would refuse to admit that.

I especially liked when Lester woke up in the hospital, he very hesitantly raised his wrists, like he expected to be handcuffed to the bed.

Oh nice catch, I noticed he was acting weird when he woke up but didn't put 2+2 together.

And to answer someone else's question, the wound on Lester's hand is definitely from the shotgun. Interested to see how he explains that one.

I'd just claim amnesia if I were Lester. 0 recollection of even getting home that evening. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Excited for the next 9 episodes. Wish this show was on HBO (though you can say that about many TV shows)

Agree, and I find this distracting. Also, I'm a huge BBT fan but something is not clicking with his portrayal of this character.

The pace and cinematography is great. I think it would have been better as a "stand-alone" series and not titled Fargo.

I thought it was too. I've never seen the movie, but I do have it saved in my DVR to watch soon.

I loved the premiere.

SPOILERS:

When Lester was smashing his wife in the head with a hammer and kept saying "Ah, geez" I was loling so hard.

WTF did I just watch

Billy Bob is awesome!

At the start they said this is based on a true story and that they are staying close to the details (paraphrased) in respect of the dead.

I thought it was going to end and didn't realize this thing keeps going.

I saw the movie and it reminded me of it, but it was so long ago, I actually thought it was the movie for a few seconds, since the On Demand I watched said it was 122 minutes.

Anyway, great pilot.

On further study, I think the Brothers are messing with us about the true story thing. After the movie came out, the local media started digging for the case and came up empty. I think it's the same for the series.

I'm going to roll my window up now.

It's just messing around.

The movie did the same thing.
