I didn't think it was possible for a 17th pick to be overrated......
The kid was drafted as a project. Basically because of his height. In college he was out of shape, could hardly get up and down the floor to play both ends of the court, and it looked like he would be nothing but a paint filler in the NBA.
He's worked extremely hard the last few years to stay in shape, develop his footwork, play with toughness, and build an offensive game.
And I'd say considering where he was drafted compared to his rank at his position. It was a project that absolutely paid off. Is he a dominant center from the past? No, never will be. But he's a solid team player who can go out and get you 15, 10, and 3 on a good night, which very very few 7footers in the league can do (outside of Noah, Cousins, Marc Gasol, and Howard)
But I'm sure I'm dead wrong according to the MSB's massive Heat bandwagon club.
