Should Forrest Gump 2 be about Little Forrest rather than Big Forrest?

I think there's a lot of potential in little Forrest's story, especially since the first movie ends nearly the exact same way it began.
If dumb Forrest could accomplish so much in life, imagine what smart Forrest could accomplish, especially provided his father's investment in his future.

A sequel almost happened.
Forrest would have witnessed events like the OJ Simpson thing and the Oklahoma City bombing.
9/11 killed the project though.
