It was dirty. It should've been a suspension. Shockingly (that's sarcasm, as I know you're pretty dumb and need things explained very clearly to you), the league didn't do a thing. Again, because they want these hits. And the talking heads on national TV want them as well, which is why not one of them talked about the Lucic fine today.
And while I'm certainly sympathetic to a guy wanting to hit Crosby in the junk, Dubinksy should've garnered a penalty for it. I do think Lucic's hit was the worst, as you can see him scanning for refs, so there's an element of re-meditation, but dirty hits happen in this league because they sell tickets and you can always find someone to parse the tape like the Zapruder film to justify it.
Leave your feet, target the head, into the boards, while the guy doesn't have the puck... these are the elements of a suspendable hit (as well as "defenseless player"). I'm not making the rules up.
ETA: I've also been far more of a hard liner on dirty hits for years on this board. This isn't a new thing for me. Either clean up the game or don't.
