So he's saying that our fore fathers only believed that militia had the right to bear arms and not , hunters, farmers, regular citizens? What a joke.

But it was defined that bearing arms is a naturalmright. We are born with that right.

The Courts don't usually like to mess with settled case law. And thanks to the McDonald and Heller cases, the individual right to bear arms isn't going anywhere unless the second amendment is altered or something of the sort.

I love when liberals say "What good is your gun going to do against the US Government when they can kill you with a drone 2,500 miles away?"

Or just say something to the effect of "those AK-47s sure seem to be working out fairly well for the Taliban." It is our longest lasting war.

My other point is that they say that certain weapons are "too much". Isn't that the point? That if we ever need to fight the government we need more Thant pistols and shotguns?

First, opening fire on federal agents with kids in the building was their choice.

So was the Feds' choice to serve a no-knock warrant, through a second story window while a gun obsessed cult was at church services. (Hey - what about knocking on the front door?)

Second, they intentionally started the fire that ultimately killed everyone.

Probably - after a lengthy siege and while directly under attack by an armored vehicle.

They were illegally obtaining weapons

Has this been proven? Link?

molesting children, abusing women,

While I believe that this was going one, didn't Koresh beat an earlier child abuse charge?

Many of the dead, including most of the children, were killed not by the FBI or the fire but forced or willful ingestion of cyanide.

That's not proven either - while they showed symptoms, cyanide is a known product of burning CS gas - maybe they were poisoned intentionally - maybe it was the burning CS gas.

Terribly mishandled by all adults involved - particularly federal law enforcement. The ATF gets an F and the FBI gets a D - the results speak for themselves.

Why they don't go to the Constitutions owners manual (Federalist, Anti-Federalist Papers) baffles me. It's all there in black and white
But then, when you win that argument, they quickly change it to "well, the law was designed 230 years ago and is out of date."

A couple of years ago the family and I were driving to Alabama for a week of relaxation on the beach. Our trip took us through some old country roads. I looked at my wife at one point and said, "We never have to worry about guns being taken, there are too many Bubba's with 4 wheel drive pickups, a dip, a hound, just looking for someone to try and take them." An all out revolution would occur if the gov't tried to take our guns, I have no doubt about that. Those good ole' boys will never stand for that, and there are a lot of them.

"It can't happen here" is one of the most dangerous of all assumptions.

I don't think they entire military would turn on citizens. I'm sure a decent percentage would turn with them.

I had this conversation with an army officer recently, and now I feel fairly assured that we would be quite safe from our military turning on us. What you would have to worry about is the police and feds.

My grandfather said the same of segregation. He opined that the same demographic would never allow integration and feared a prolonged time of civil unrest. George Wallace may of blocked the door to integration but Bubba's rolled over and were basically silent. Too prosperous to participate and threaten loss of status. "Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death" kept most except the most radical from participating in an active role in what generally was majority opinion of the day. Unless extreme economic hardships prevail the same will ring true regarding 2nd Amendment rights. Living without Directv and A/C is just too much to bear even for the most devout of patriots of our time.

I think you are confused. The patriots of our time said that all men are created equal. Some of those patriots were slave owners, and thus hypocrites.

You must be a miserable person. As much as i disagree with some liberal politicians, i would never "pray" for any of them to die.i know you thought it was cute when you typed that but its pretty pathetic actually.

If they want to make that argument then, why not attack the 1st Amendment as well? The founders could have never anticipated the internet.
