I want you to go home 10 hours earlier each week and surrender the resulting pay.

Why are you letting your plantation owner force you to work so much?

Well that's just fine, but does the reverse apply when you want to confiscate larger portions of my income simply because I choose to work harder?

Lets just go ahead and make it illegal to work more than 15 hrs a week, call employees ever, and require workers breaks every 15 minutes. Lets go full retard. While were at it, lets go full blown socialism like France and break this country in 10 years.

Yep.
"15 hrs a week" is probably not a good idea, but I'll give it further thought when I'm taking care of someone at 3am tomorrow morning.

Did this guy seriously just make a thread complaining about the life people are "forced" to live, in which he praised a culture that forces people by law to live a certain way?

Stifling taxes and regulations aside, if a person is unhappy working for another, he can take his skills to market by starting his own business. He can then set his own schedule.

The notion that one must work for another and only enjoys what freedoms he can negotiate with his wage-master, is sheep-think.

The last employment report had average work week about 42 hours. We could limit everyone to 21 hours a week and double the amount if jobs. Brilliant!

What's funny is... During the trough of the recession, average hours was down around 33 hours per week. I don't remember anyone talking about how good they had it...

You liberal wankers are all exactly the same. Not an oz. of testosterone, determination, individuality or excellence amongst you. A whole liberal Universe of limp-wristed, effete complainers, all dreaming of a day when no effort whatsoever will be required.

Meh Nation.

So what are the realistic implications of this law? If Both Draconian Sanctions and I work for Nestlé or Evian and I answer the phone on weekends and don't turn the boss in, therefore producing more and getting a better raise and promotion sooner....is DS allowed to sue me or the company?

Upvoted. Thanks for the kind words. The masculine arts are indeed dying, what with all the pseudo-Belgians running around demanding 3 day work weeks and free government-issued vagisil. Those of us with a sufficient store of testosterone have a responsibility to make sure the country doesn't go all Oprah. I see you understand that.

he may have told you that and he may have never heard that, but I think there are a lot of people at the end of their lives who have regrets about not working harder (and smarter) in many areas of their life, including at their "job"

Before you make the big plunge and volunteer to get on the plane I hope you have kept up with the unemployment stats in Europe nation by nation. France is near the lead in them which is why the Le Pen party advanced so much in the recent elections.

Precisely.

Not to mention as soon as you give government authority to mandate when you are allowed to work, you also give them authority to perhaps decide some day in the future that maybe your chosen occupation isn't what's best for society and you ought to be a delivery truck driver instead, or perhaps your salary is a little too high and ought to be capped.

Virtually everyone works in some capacity in order to provide goods or services for someone without what they need.

The irony of the liberal leftist leaners that now don't want to answer a simple phone call in order to facilitate helping someone without........

True. But if a young guy wants to devote his life to a career, there shouldn't be barriers protecting him from something he doesn't need protecting

Is this really an issue? How many hourly workers are getting called and quizzed at home on a regular basis?

FYI-Being a "school teacher" in Japan doesn't really mean he's a legitimate educator in any sense of that term. Nearly every school in Japan, thousands of community centers and countless private companies have burnt-out Westerners in them that teach English. Most who stay past the initial year or two stay because they have no prospects at home and because they can get laid much easier there. Many of these people are your standard-issue Birkenstock-wearing, Leftist-slogan-spouting, Hiroshima-apologizing, pointy-headed graduate-student types. Don't take the term "teacher in Japan" too seriously. Just sayin...
