No, that's not the main factor. It can help, buy not the only thing

Anyone who's played sports in a high school level would understand. It's just the "comfort" feeling associated with playing in your own gym that you're used to.

not at the professional level. It's been researched and written . What you're saying simply isn't so, not once you advanced to the professional ranks.
