That's exactly false. He had a grand vision for America, like Kennedy, and he could communicate his vision beautifully. His speeches were usually simple and elegant. He tapped into our better angels, not our resentments like Our current Clown Car President. He talked of the City On The Hill which required you to be culturally literate. He asked you to be a citizen and not a subject. He was gracious to his opponents and maintained the highest level of personal decorum in and out of office.
