So, my company's branch in Geismar was slated to open in December of this year; frequency & volume of clients has pushed it up to May. As a result, I'll need to relocate in order to have a manageable commute. The location of the office is only a couple of miles south of I-10, so it seems like there's a pretty decent amount of options to keep the commute to somewhere in the ~45 minute range. I've really not given it a terrible ton of thought since I was under the impression that I wouldn't have to start thinking about it until the end of the year.

What say the OT denizens? Where would you set up shop & call home?

Depending what time of day you plan on driving, you may have to live closer than you think. Traffic can be a real bitch on 73

Gonzales or Prairieville. Would not stay south if 10 personally. But I also moved away from Louisiana in 2006. So it may havr changed some. Used to be nice houses in Pellican Point. Not sure if Doug has sold it or not though. Like I said, it has been a while.

My wife works in Geismer, we are on the Diversion. Might be a good choice if you life the river life. Drive is ~30 minutes without traffic. She says leaving 5 minutes late can add a lot of time to the drive, all of it is around the plants...

Where's the office at? Near Tanger? Near 73? 3115? 3251?

When I was working off of 3115, I commuted from LSU and it was 20-30 minutes easy every morning and there was no traffic. It was a breeze. It wasn't much farther to 73

Go move by Will Cover. He lives on Deck.

If you want to live in BR It's only about 25 minutes to Geismar from the starring bluebonnet area if you take nicholson all the way. I did this commute for 1.5 years and it was totally fine with 0 traffic.

Definately look at Dutchtown, Gonzales, or Old Perkins. I work in St. Gabriel (used to be over in Geismar) but live in Denham, since it was a lot cheaper for rent. If I could have, I would have bought here off Bluff Rd. Ascension schools are great and traffic isnt that terrible if you time it right. I come in around 7 and leave around 6 and avoid most of the hellish traffic. Try to work around the Dutchtown school schedules if you end up in this area and learn the back roads. I sometimes take the 16 Port Vincent route in to work and over there toward the river is nice too, off 44. Plenty of nice options in this area.

La Place. The Cambridge subdivision is real nice. If you don't like Cambridge, try New Era.

Dutchtown a lot of nice subdivisions along 74 and it's a quick dash to Geismar/St. Gabriel
