He's going to tow the party line.
He was a great baseball player but you shouldn't expect him to be part sociologist, part economist, part statistician, and part historian.
Pop culture stars should not be role models, and as a society we would do ourselves some good if we regarded their opinions on everything not related to their profession with the same weight that you would anyone else that is not an expert.

Lot of good insight here. But the problem is Hank Aaron isn't just a 'pop cultural star.' Faced racism head on and overcame it. And not some fake, drummed up racism. Real, life-threatening stuff.
So yeah, I disagree with his conclusion, but I don't dismiss him like I would Sean Penn or Justin Bieber.
