GOP barely misses Senate majority in 2014 midterms
Dems lose presidency in 2016 but maintain very slight majority. Harry Reid is forced out after Rand Paul's election. Paul + House majority and close Senate split lead to compromise and better governance.

Book it. More money will be spent to keep him from being nominated than they will spend against the Democratic opponent.
