but if you have him covering #2 receivers, you're going to have a problem.

Can Vaccaro cover most #2 WRs?

Yes. Why can Vacarro cover them but Mosley can't? Is it because of Vacarro's great advantage in speed?

The point to be made is that Mosley's name to fame is his cover skills as a LB. Added to the mix is that he was used in passing plays to cover WRs in the spread and RBs out the backfield or in a split formation.

What role does a Strong Safety play?

quote:

The strong safety tends to be a bit larger and stronger than the free safety. A typical strong safety will weigh about 210 pounds. His job tends to be to play up closer to the line and help out in stopping the other team from running the ball. He is also responsible if players go into motion in the backfield and then go out for passes, for example the running back or fullback or h-back.

As high as I am on Vaccaro, that's yet to be seen if he can on a consistent basis, and I doubt he will ever be asked to cover the team's #2 WR on a consistent basis. He played so many roles last year that I wouldn't say that I've seen enough of him sticking #2 receivers to say that.

Yes.

If you're just going to debate among yourself, I'll bow out and let you continue.

Even though you answered yes for me, my post above states different. While I do think Vaccaro is, and will be, superior in pass coverage to Mosley, it isn't because of his speed. No one in the world will argue that speed=coverage ability.

Not the same role is an ILB, and I don't need a "Football for Dummies" website to tell me that.

Besides, you're getting so off track from the original point. I said they need help at FS, and you go on to state that they may pick Mosley because of their need at Safety, which is ridiculous. Then, you go on to attempt to explain the similarities in a Strong Safety and an Inside Linebacker to me as if you're my Pop Warner coach, which no one mentioned a Strong Safety.
