Moving to Dallas in a couple weeks. In the market for a new TV. I'm looking for something around $500.

I know very little about TV's and what's good or not so what would be the best route to go here? Plasma? LCD? etc...

TIA.

Get an LED. What size do you want?

I'd go to a best buy or wall mart and see which brand you like from the picture, then go online and find one cheeper (if possible).

keep an eye on woot.com

they have great deals on TVs periodically (and other things). In fact it looks like they have some cheap Vizios right now.

The real question is how smart do you want your tv to be.

I just got a 50" LED Samsung, UN6000 series. It's a little more than $500 but it's LED, picture looks great.
