I too have been looking for something to bring hunting and fishing. I was looking at the Nikon 3200, but I don't know shite about these things.

Your first shot of the Reels, with the Sunset behind, is a very good Composition.
I have a Sony, Non-DSLR, and it has pretty good Optics.
I use Program (Auto), and start shooting. Never stop to Review previous shots - could miss the next Good One. Always disable Flash, shoot through the Viewfinder, with LCD taped over.
