Honestly, with this Gus Johnson experiment, my bar is set pretty low.
I hate Gus so much. I have only been following since the last World Cup, and I am absolutely confident I can do a better job than he does.
Gus does not even cater to the new viewers who have no experience because he is just as clueless as them. Gus will probably ask why the offside rule exists as well as why don't they make the goals bigger so you can score more goals?

We should start one of those White House petitions to get Gus off of soccer.

Baby steps. He can start with doing enough research to learn how to pronounce players' names remotely correctly. I don't even need proper pronunciation. Just pronounce that shite phonetically. He can't even manage to do that right now.
It's such a lazy, cheap gimmick by FOX. They know that they aren't really risking alienating "hardcore" fans when they stick him on high profile games, and I'm assuming that they want to appeal to people who just like to hear Gus Johnson speak/people who watch a lot of sports but don't watch soccer regularly who will tune in to high profile games. They can appear to give a shite about their soccer coverage while utilizing someone they already employ.
