Completely agree it's a great movie; however, I can't disagree more with your statement regarding Captain America's role in Avengers. He was a major character and was the acknowledged commander in New York.

Don't get me wrong I know he was a major character but I just feel he wasn't used to his fullest capacity in the Avengers. All he did was amuse Loki in Germany, cool 2 hot heads in a forest, do acrobatic things to get the helicarrier staying afloat, clear a building of Chitari, and fight on the streets and finally got to call the shots at the very end, which I knew was a big deal because he essentially leads the Avengers. So all the more reason when he had that fight with Batroc to prove he was "more than just a shield". Also having TWS fighting him proved an equal challenge that I was glad to see.
