Why is everyone in here still bitching.
Ole dude is just saying that Verrett did a good job on OBJ when he played him. For Verrett he did "shut him down" for their short period matched up. He also said that he agrees that a corner doesnt truly "shut down" a guy unless he plays him the whole game and limits him to those stats.
Also.. If anyone would look at the film I linked you would know the actual stats. From the film, which shows every play OBJ did anything, you see him get 2 catches for 20-25 yards against Verrett.
Mett throws his way about ~5 times while being covered by Verrett. Two led to catches. One led to a PI. One should have been a PI. and One was a pass breakup by Verrett. He was faced against Landry multiple times and Landry got ZERO catches against him (although only targeted maybe twice)
Obviously they were matched up more than ~5 times but Mett didn't throw his way.
After watching the film on him and JL from that game it looks like wherever Verrett went, they threw the other way. They ROASTED #25, thats for sure.
Verrett is a stud and did a great job that game. None of our WRs were "shut down" bc they both got 100+ yards. BUT Verrett did a good job on both of them when he covered them.
NOW SHUT THE frick UP
