No reason to worry about the ryegrass....it will die off as the heat come in.

Break up the soil some before you seed. Rake it in a bit if possible....and water. If you only use centipede seed, it will take a while to fill in (possibly all growing season or into next year). You will have issues with weeds.....no way around it.

Some folks seed bermuda with the centipede. The bermuda grows very fast and should provide coverage in a short time. The centipede will take over as the years go by. The drawback is it takes some time to get full centipede coverage.

Try to set the seeds in the next month or so & keep the seeds moist. It will require a lot of sprinklers once June and July comes around.
