I think even just him missing a couple of games like this really plummets any minimal trade value he may have had.
If he had stayed healthy all year, we had a chance.
Now...I think we are stuck with him for another year.

I'm pretty much down to the Knicks as our first and last option. They are desperate and have a similarly injury prone under performer. McNamara suggested Chandler + Raymond Felton for Gordon to make it more attractive to the Knicks. That'd be an interesting choice, because taking Felton back eats away a good chunk of the cap space you were hoping to free up. His contract is only for $4.5 million, so you'd still have $8-$10 million in the 2015 offseason, but that's only if you don't pick up an MLE SF/C this offseason which seems unlikely. Basically taking Felton back with Chandler still limits you to using the MLE. It only seems like a good move if it's only Chandler and you get all of Gordon's cap space back, or if you want Chandler around long term and he'd agree to a cheaper deal.

I was also thinking about the likelihood of him opting out after next year. What do we really think his value will be? His option for 2015/2016 is $15,514,031. Assuming he exercised his option and stayed even remotely healthy, he would probably get at least 2yr/$5M. That would put his earnings for those 3 years at $20.5M. In that scenario he'd need a deal for at least that much to really justify opting out. I know that only the $15.5M is truly guaranteed, but I'd say there's a very high likelihood that he gets at least the $5M.
So, would someone offer him 3 years at nearly $7M after next season? I'm not sure that anyone would, but you never know. What if he opted out and resigned here for that much? Either way, we could survive that one extra year, but it would be nice to have some sort of closure on that contract.
