it's easy to dominate when there's like 5 schools that recruits want to go to. much less parity in women's

Agree. There's only 2-3 schools he has to worry about each year.

The issue isn't that girls only want to play for Tennessee, Duke, UCONN, Notre Dame, etc.

The issue is that the talent pool is very VERY shallow. Elite players are few and far between. Those players want to go to Duke.

There aren't girls that are gamechangers that go solo to play for another school. And even if they do, they have NO ONE around them.

Also, more continuity with players.

And, FWIW, if I were in his shoes, I'd do exactly the same thing and stay my arse right where I was.
