I think this will decrease the number of fouls. You won't have hack a shaq and this will allow teams to still foul to stop the clock though it will more likely backfire and end games quicker since more foul shots will be made and it will increase scoring.

You don't know what hack-a-shaq is.

It isn't the fouling you see within the last minute or so.

This was the same line of thinking that gave us the double bonus rule. The thought was that giving teams 2 shots would cut down on the fouls at the end of a game, because the chances of a comeback would be lessened by added free throws.

I can't tell that it has made any impact in reducing end of game fouling, but it does give the team with the lead an advantage. I wouldn't mind seeing the numebr of fouls to get to bonus+ be upped. Right now you shoot 1+1 for fouls 7 8 and 9 and then go to bonus+ at 10? Why not push that threshold up to 12 or so?
