Zapps Beerfest Pro's/Con's

I see the Hogs for the Cause thread is getting reviews on what everyone thought of that festival. I thought we could discuss what everyone else's experiences was like at Zapps this weekend.
For me, I had an incredible time. I got out there around 2:30 and tailgated for an hour so I didn't have to fight traffic. I will do this again in the future. Was really fun.
I think they did a pretty good job of dropping hay in muddy areas. I didn't ruin my shoes or anything like that so I was impressed with the way they took care of the water.
They had some really good beers there this weekend. I think my most memorable beer I tried was from the Redstick Brewers homebrew tent. I forgot exactly what it was (I was pretty intoxicated by this point) but the Rosemary Beer was very refreshing and fresh tasting. Really like the idea of incorporating rosemary into beer.
I will say my biggest con this year was the lack of live music and they didn't let people into the festival early enough. I think last year you could walk in like 30 minutes early and just not get served. They tried to let everyone in like 15 minutes before start time and the lines were ridiculous. Not to mention they still need to get more bathrooms out there. I found a shed to pee behind for the most part but come on... You need more than a few port-o-potties with 2,000 drunk people.
The Pro's were obviously the great beer and the weather couldn't have been better. The setup was pretty good and I know they probably needed to move people around because the water. The Homebrew groups took the prize for me on best part of the festival.
Will make it next year for sure.

they didn't have live music? They always do!

They need more bathrooms, but other than that, it was a great day. It's one of my favorite events to attend in BR.

Ill take the dj they had over some shitty cover bands that might drive the ticket prices up.

I dunno, we got there a little before 3pm and got in line. There were 3 lines and yea they were piling up fast but I was in the door with a beer in my hand before 3:30.

Im completely in agreement with you. How hard is it to get another 5-10 port-o-potties out there?
I think they did a good job on handling the sloppy grounds but they should really try to expand the festival area a little more.

The bathrooms were the worst thing, for sure. Way too few port-a-pots for the amount of people and drinking. It was muddy and I was expecting to see more people who fell in it, but the ground held up and people stayed upright.

Would have liked to attend. Does it always occur the same weekend as Hogs?
