Sold guns for a while @ Bowie Outfitters. The Versa Max never sold well, not sure why. I think it was a weird price point. Seems people didn't want to pay 1k+ for a Remington and opted for the Beretta A400 (have one - love it), SBEII (friends have - love) or Super Vinci (mixed reviews).
My duck/turkey/dove guns are:
Remington 870 supermag
Remington 11-87 (3")
Beretta A400.
I shoot them all very well and can't say that I prefer one over the other in most situations. All excellent guns
