I absolutely do. My first thought is "where was the PRODUCTIVE capital stolen from to 'create' that government job in the first place"?

well government can create jobs

hell it can even create jobs in a net-positive way...for the present. but the money borrowed to fund those jobs in the present will take away jobs in the future

IRS needs more workers to track down Miss Lerners emails as the current time frame laid out is ridiculous.

They can create jobs easily enough, it's a question of if the capital expended to create these jobs could have been more productive if left in the market. The answer is almost inevitably yes.

Difference in emphasis.
Conservatives would say "jobs were created" meaning the economy grew probably due to tax cuts or deregulation.
Leftists say "we created" jobs probably because of more government workers or stimulus grants to cronies.

I cringed when our dear leader said this after spending $787 billion.

quote:

"Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected."

Dear leader did not cringe when he said it. He laughed.

Of course because they don't think it is possible.

Fracking appeared out of business, not from government funded research. And then they accuse liberals of believing in unicorns.

Yes. What's worse is when people believe it.

I'm pretty sure I know what you're getting at, and many on this board aren't going to like it.

With Obamacare, who needs a job anymore? Jay Carney told me not to worry and go spend more time with my family.

Yes, and I also cringe when I hear somebody say "there ought to be a law..."

The U.S. government created every single job that has ever existed in this country.

All private sector jobs originated from land and resources conquered by the U.S. government.

Cringe, for sure. Jobs with little or no productive accountability; if they ever served an axiom of productivity in the first place. More like cronyism and social engineering. Viability or real life merit be damned.

We could cut half and never miss em'.

I cringe when the statement is made, as it usually is, as touting some great achievement when it is generally a net loss for taxpayers and just another increase in spending.

No because as a conservative we realize the govt. doesn't create shite but bullshite. How many jobs were created in '09? How many of them existed in '10 after the census workers got pink slips? Name the sector to apply for a job with openings available nation wide The answer to that is the federal govt. especially in DC.

Facing the facts is the prime reason. Congress for nearly fifty years has "borrowed" money from it and never paid back into it one single dime.
