outside of a disability, this should be the primary reason why one should consider holding a child back.

My son has a summer birthday and we held him back and we can see the results of that decision this year. He's more confident in himself and he's more open to try things. He starts kindergarten next year. I'm glad we made the decision to hold him back a year.
