Chris Christie interview; IMO as POTUS CO pot users likely to get prosecuted.

"I don't believe that legalizing an illegal drug for purposes of governmental profit is something that we should be doing. I believe that this is a gateway drug into other more serious drugs, I think it sends a wrong message to our kids and I don't think it makes anybody a better or more productive person," he said.
Christie explained that that he compromised by allowing medicinal marijuana in New Jersey, but said as long as he was the governor, recreational use of marijuana would never be legalized.
Christie also indicated that he would not consider decriminalization of marijuana.
"Is that Chris Christie the father or Chris Christie the former federal prosecutor talking?" asked the host.
"Yes," Christie said flatly. "Both."
I'd be very concerned about Chris Christie as president if I used or sold pot in CO or another stated where marijuana is legal at the state level. My interpretation of this interview is that pot users and/or dispensaries would likely come under federal prosecution if Christie were POTUS.
I wish the reporter would have asked him directly, "hypothetically, would a president Chris Christie charge users and sellers of marijuana in Colorado of violating federal drug laws?"
I believe he telegraphed his answer.

Well, despite the fact that he's very likely a big user of their product, I guess he can kiss that big campaign contribution from the Frito-Lay corporation goodbye.

I respect that answer more than most politicians.

More evidence that CC is a statist POS? Of course it is. I really hope he falls flat.

IMO Rand Paul would make Colorado turn red in an election.
Christie is a POS. Nothing he says has merit...for example
Alcohol could be applied to this description, yet it is perfectly legal and taxed. Dumb argument.

We don't need a major earthquake up there. They haven't recovered from Sandy yet

The Republican Party still thinks it's 1980.

Chris Christie is toast, he won't sniff the nomination.

Libs LOVE Christie. Beware of any Republican endorsed by a liberal.

I appreciate his candid answer, but I don't at all agree with his position and I don't think he's on the right end of this issue, both philosophically and electorally.

It seems like two major divisions of ideology have formed. Big government and small government. Republican politicians didn't become politicians to make the government smaller and are now at odds with their own voters. The Republican Party could die if it doesn't get serious about appealing to this increasingly large group of people.

I won't be voting for Chris Christie in the primaries anyway. My vote will be going to Rand Paul should he run.
