I'm kind of surprised at all the Cap votes over Spidey.

Anyone wanna help me see the light?

No, because Spidey would win. Superior reflexes, faster, more evasive, stronger, as good a defense, and a pretty good hand-to-hand combatant in his own right.

agree

and his spider sense would warn him this was no guy off the street (nullifying any surprise attack)

Naaa. He's a scrapper. Get in, get out, use webs, etc. He's not a hand to hand fighter.

I see it like this. Spider-Man is cocky. Extremely. It's why he almost ALWAYS faces emotionally unbalanced people (Venom, Ock, Vulture...) I mean look at his stable of villains, a crazy Geriatric, a Crazy Criminal, a Crazy Doctor, A Crazy Survivorman, Another Crazy Prisoner, A Crazy Jealous guy, etc. His attitude can win him those fights. THey make serious mistakes and ALWAYS underestimate Spider-Man because they're all lunatics. So that just makes his ego explode.

Put him against someone smarter, someone who rarely makes mistakes, someone who doesn't crack because of emotional imbalance, and none of his flashiness is going to work. He might get some shots in, but Cap can take shots from Spider-Man, that's nothing. And as soon as Spidey actually gets hit a few times, fight over. Spider-Man would fold.

In terms of physicality, they're extremely similar. Cap is tougher, a little less strong, and more battle tested. Spider-Man is more agile, and more of a risk taker. Cap would take serious advantage of that. Shield vs. Web, I'm going Shield.
