For what you're planning on doing this would probably work fine.
Had a buddy that buys and sells crawfish that I helped build some ponds a couple years back. He asked a few of his good fishermen to hand pick him a few sacks. Had some sacks in the cooler overnight, it still worked fine. Well, I say that. He drained his ponds a years or two ago..... I think it was more work than it was worth for them....
