Slight hijack.

Are there a particular brand of speakers that the OT recommends that I can use outside under a covered outdoor kitchen?

Looking for in-ceiling speakers.

I think as long as it's protected from the rain you can use any in ceiling speaker...only issue might be the grill rusting. At least that's what I was told when I called definitive technology yesterday. I have there outdoor aw6500s I was going to use on my back porch/kitchen but think I'd rather the look of in ceiling so I'm going to run the DI8Rs like I'll have through the house. The advantage of the AWs is they have a passive radiator on the back side that greatly improves the bass response. I'll probably add some in celing subs to compensate for that. The kind that mount between the rafters and just port through the ceiling so it looks like another round speaker.

Problem with the JL boat ones is the look of them and they will probably be 4ohms. Just have to make sure what you run them off of is 4ohm stable if not you will have to run 4 speakers and wire them to be 8ohms for 2 speakers.

Polk makes an all weather speaker. My uncle has them and they sound pretty damn good.

I have 4 of these under a covered porch at my house. My whole house has HTD's lync system. Love the system so far.

As far as clarity goes, me and my neighbor two doors down can hear Hawthorne clearly from his backyard during broadcasts.
