I'm about to go all schizophrenic, so just bear with me...
I hate the way this team is playing right now. Pitching is good, very good, but not much else. Defense, baserunning, hitting have all been below standard. Something has to be done; changes have to be made; attitudes have to change. If not, we'll finish in the middle of the SEC and won't host.
Now, all that being said, I posted before the season that this would happen. That the team would start to struggle at the beginning of SEC play once things got tough and there was actual pressure to win important games. In fact, I said it was a good/necessary thing for a team that lost so many leaders to face some adversity. Because here is where the true leaders of the team step forward. The pitching staff has found theirs. Now the position players need a guy or two. They don't need to be vocal or even full-time starters. Just be able to lead by example at practice and coming up big in games.
This is how this team can still win 45-50 games, 18-20 games in SEC, and be the best team they've been all year at the end of the season when it matters.

We'll find our groove. This team will still win a lot of games. We are really down on the performance so far but we have played one of the best teams in the SEC and country and still have a solid 20-5 record. That's not exactly a poor record, we are just spoiled. Yeah we coulda, woulda, shoulda swept Yale and finished off Georgia, but baseball is a funny game and even more so the last 3 years. The old adage of hitting is contagious is true. Ibarra and Breggy will start to break out soon and then the rest of the team will follow suit. Kade and Steve-o are really carrying the load right now.

If you look at the potential of the lineup, you'll see that it's still there, but the team as a whole is in a funk.
Bregs, big time.
Ibarra, also way down from last year.
Stevenson doing better but he can't carry the load.
Hale started well, has faded.
McMullen shows flashes of strong hitting.
Scivicque also, but he's been inconsistent of late.
Get 2 or 3 of these guys out of their slump and we get more timely hits and win these "tie" games.
I'm not giving up yet.

I really believe if this team can just put a couple of good offensive performances together they can get things rolling. Hitting is a lot about confidence and some of our guys are probably lacking that right now.
