Eh, if anything hopefully it will boost his at bats above normal C levels. He loses his value if you play him at third.

Gomes definitely jumps in value.

His versatility only increases his value, not diminishing it. He was already a 20 pop bat which is sufficient power at 3rd.

This is fantasy baseball. If he's a crappy fielding 3rd baseman, it doesn't really matter.

his ABs have always been above most catcher levels because he can play 1B or DH too


he's still a viable 3B option, Pablo Sandoval ish. But i agree id rather keep him at catcher, his value is higher there

I won't play him primarily at third, but the 3B eligibility will only increase his value for me for roster flexibility.
