Anybody who just watched the New Mexico game saw how flawed the replay system is. The problem is that possession, but not fouls, can be judged on review. New Mexico grabbed a rebound that Stanford swatted at and knocked out of bounds. Or at least that's what the ref thought. However, upon review, it was clear that Stanford had hacked the wrist rather than the ball, causing the ball to go out of bounds. So not only was NM not given free throws, but the ref had to award Stanford the ball even though he could tell the only reason it was last touched by NM was because of the foul he missed. A team is not only not penalized, but actually rewarded, because of a ref realizing something they did that he perceived as legal was actually illegal.

The fact that they can review out of bounds calls in the final 2 minutes is literally retarded.

"Yeah, we missed about ten of those calls tonight that all had an impact on the game, but now that there's under two minutes left we better make sure we get this one right!!!"

It is the dumbest thing ever.
