We are having an extremely hard time with shipping products up there. Many manufactures/distributors wont ship up there. In order for us to ship the stuff its costing a very large sum.
Welcome to Alaska! I'm headed up there Monday, and I'm taking 40 lbs of ammo with me on the airplane.

First place that comes to mind is AIH (Alaska Industrial Hardware). They get much of their stuff from Canada instead of the lower 48 (mostly the exact same products as in the USA).

Home Depot and Lowes also has a presence up there. Home Depot seems to have the most efficient and cost effective shipping.

Keep in mind that Anchorage is supplied by two ships that dock on a weekly basis. There is no UPS Ground available...it's all air or boat

This is what weve found out. normal US shipping that cost about $100 US, cost anywhere from $4-600 to AK. Several of the manufactures will not ship. Big companies like Campbell Hausfeld, dewalt, etc...

Home Depot doesnt seem to have the selection as in the US. Been a very difficult job for what we do in replacing.
