Apologies if this topic has come and gone, but I'm looking for the Rant opinion on Rob Bolden's move to WR. From what I read, he was the most impressive WR in the initial spring practices, and at 6'4" and nearly 200 lbs, the guy should be a beast against any DBs. Also, he's a veteran in the system and knows all the plays. What am I missing?

some of the early reports sound promising, and given the group's inexperience, it's not incomprehensible that he makes some kind of mark. just seems unlikely with him just picking up the position in his 5th yr of college whereas a lot of these guys have been doing it a while.

I'm just in wait and see mode with this passing game. for as much as ppl talk about the QBs, I can't ever remember seeing a group of WRs that collectively hadn't done much of anything heading into the season. the talent is there obviously, but there's still a learning curve.

Just wondering for the people who think hes gonna be "a beast", would u have said the same if Stephen Rivers got moved to reciever? I mean his 6'8 220 shouldnt he be able to dominate Dbs too? or is there some other factor involved cuz last time i checked pocket passers cant move to reciever.

My prediction is that he gets some decent playing time this year and averages a catch or two per game.

Hope the rant has a lot of beer ready this year because they're going to be drinking themselves to death after seeing this weak WR group. Better hope one of the young guys like Quinn/Dupre come in and tear it up...

QB is a big question but I think WR is a bigger problem right now. From what I've heard, nobody has looked good or even stands out yet. We're going to take some lumps and a lot of growing pains at WR/QB this season.

Can the guy run block? That is what this team is going to need. Am I right?

You're missing that he's never played the position before. Say hello to Russell Shepherd.
